Who We Are
MAINTAIN YOUR INDEPENDENCE
At Independence Health Services, we understand that seniors want to maintain their maximum level of independence for as long as possible.
With Independence’s Home Modifications, we will work with you to determine what changes need to be made to keep you safe and in your home for as long as possible.
ADDRESSING YOUR NEEDS
Home Modifications are physical changes made to one’s home to accommodate for the changing needs of the elderly or disabled, to enable aging in place.
As we age, our mobility and physical strength diminish and many aspects of a home that were once functional become difficult. Home modifications can be as simple as changing water faucet handles from knobs to levers or as comprehensive as the construction of an accessory apartment or elder cottage on the property.
Independence’s Home Modifications construction team, which consists of licensed general contractors as well as occupational therapists trained in ADA construction and compliance, can help modify any home to ensure safety. One of the main benefits of home modification is that it promotes independence and prevents accidents.
According to a recent AARP housing survey, “83% of older Americans want to stay in their current homes for the rest of their lives,” but other studies show that most homes are not designed to accommodate the needs of people over 65. Our goal is to help people achieve their maximum level of independence at home through home modification.
We give FREE ESTIMATES to help you understand your options as you determine what is the most cost effective and safest choice for you or your loved one.
